World figure-skating champion Jeffrey Buttle to appear on ‘Air Farce Live’

- World figure-skating champion Jeffrey Buttle of Smooth Rock Falls, Ont., appears on the CBC-TV sketch comedy show “Air Farce Live” this Friday in a segment called “Buttle Mania.”

The sketch sees “Air Farce” cast member Craig Lauzon playing a high school student in northern Ontario who is bitten by the so-called Buttle Mania bug and starts wearing colourful figure-skating costumes to school.

The student’s adoration of the 25-year-old Canadian skater, who recently captured the gold medal at the world figure-skating championship in Sweden, disappoints his principal (Roger Abbott) and his mother (Luba Goy), who wants him to be a miner. Read more
